I don’t know about the rest of you but this one has… a video collection. From the cargo bike’s camera to raw band video shoots and more. All saved on a NAS but taking about half the drive space. Pruning it down and sorting the good bits from the bad is going to be painful no matter the techniques used.
One tool I’ve used to trim a number of music streams is LosslessCut. One can perform simple cuts and trims without having to re-encode. No quality loss, no waiting time. Seems to work reliably here on all my video source!
Next up is research on the photo hoarde. A dozen different cameras from very early digital to nights out blitzing 2000+ pics. It’s a mess. De-duplication time. Judicious pruning. With prejudice.
