It’s been a hot minute since a Gwydion report went out. And all is grand.
When I got him I was told it could take a couple of years to get over what he’d been through, and that’s proven true. He’s GREAT with woman and kids now, taking just a bit longer to warm up to men.
But we have continued to challenge him. Slow exposure to his various triggers has been working. He is indeed a “brave boy”.
The entire experience has been good for me too. Patience was never one of my virtues and the process of rehabilitating a dog with PTSD has taught me it’s benefits.
We’ll work on swimming this summer and try again with rides in the cargo bike. I’m not convinced either will take but it’s worth a try.
