When I got him I was told it could take a couple of years to get over what he’d been through, and that’s proven true. He’s GREAT with woman and kids now, taking just a bit longer to warm up to men. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But we have continued to challenge him. Slow exposure to his various triggers has been working. He is indeed a “brave boy”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The entire experience has been good for me too. Patience was never one of my virtues and the process of rehabilitating a dog with PTSD has taught me it’s benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We’ll work on swimming this summer and try again with rides in the cargo bike. I’m not convinced either will take but it’s worth a try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
