They &#8220;suppress&#8221; the saving of cookies and other temp files between sessions. This means it is difficult to determine where a browser has been after it is closed.  All temporary files are deleted. Downloaded files are normally kept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This does <strong>not<\/strong> mean you are anonymous online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s beyond the scope of this missive  but know there are many <a href=\"https:\/\/iq.opengenus.org\/methods-to-track-user-on-web\/\">methods to tracking a user across the internet.<\/a> From &#8220;DNS lookups&#8221; to &#8220;profiling&#8221; and  &#8220;zombie cookies&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And many well funded organizations profit from this activity. From your local ISP to advertising behemoths like Google, Amazon and Meta. The adage &#8220;You are the product&#8221; isn&#8217;t far off the mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just&#8230; don&#8217;t assume that if private or incognito browsing is enabled you&#8217;ll experience any semblance of privacy. It can, combined with other techniques, be used to give some degree of anonymity if your device is physically inspected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even using more advanced methods of obscuring one&#8217;s activity can be fraught. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.torproject.org\/\">TOR relays<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virtual_private_network\">VPN&#8217;s<\/a> are no guarantee your activity will not be discovered and tracked. Especially when using a web browser. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Real Life&#8221; isn&#8217;t far off. Your car&#8217;s location can be tracked via it&#8217;s license plate, parking activity and any external connections like GPS. YOU can be tracked via facial recognition and the geolocation of your cel phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We live in a world formerly limited to dystopian science fiction.
